Suns Owner Robert Sarver Apologizes To Fans, Promises Gift

Suns Owner Robert Sarver last night apologized to fans attending a home preseason game against the Spurs, who left coach Gregg Popovich and five players behind. With the Suns up by 33 with 2:31 to go, Sarver said over the PA system, "I want to thank you for coming out tonight. This is not the game you paid your hard-earned money to watch. I apologize for it. And I want you to send me your tickets if you came tonight with a return envelope and I've got a gift for you on behalf of the Suns." Attendance was officially 13,552, but many tickets were unused. Fans will receive a "gift certificate for tickets, merchandise or food" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 10/17).
