Potential bidders for EPL club Aston Villa believe that team Owner Randy Lerner “may now be willing to sell” for just US$162M. The figure would be “half of what was thought to be the original asking price” when he put the team up for sale in May and “only around a third of what he has spent” (London TELEGRAPH, 9/28). Yesterday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series AAA 400 at Dover Int’l Speedway “looked to have several thousand more fans at the start than the estimated 60,000 who showed up” at the track in May for the FedEx 400. Dover cut capacity from 135,000 to 113,000 by widening seats in ’11 (Wilmington NEWS JOURNAL, 9/29).

The Rugby Football Union said that EPL club Chelsea “held talks over moving to Twickenham for a season if Stamford Bridge is redeveloped” (London TELEGRAPH, 9/28).
