Strong Reactions After TMZ Releases Ray Rice In-Elevator Video

TMZ early this morning released video of Ravens RB Ray Rice from inside the elevator the February night he was charged with domestic violence against his now wife. The video shows Rice “delivering a vicious punch to his fiancee's face, knocking her out cold.” An employee of the Atlantic City hotel where the incident occurred said that he was “working there at the time and says the NFL saw the elevator footage before imposing” its two-game suspension against Rice (TMZ.com, 9/8).

The video is predictably creating a lot of reaction this morning on Twitter. ESPN producer Arty Berko: “If #Goodell saw the Rice punch vid b4 handing down 2 gm suspension then everything we think about him must change despite new revised rules.” ESPNCleveland.com’s Tony Grossi: “A thousand positive marijuana tests don't equal what Ray Rice did. Note to NFL and NFLPA: Your policies are broke. Fix them.” Yahoo Sports’ Jeff Passan: “Two games. Two games. Two games. Two games. Two games. Two games. For that. So disgusting it should be said again. Only two games.” The N.Y. Daily News’ Frank Isola: “Are the good people of Baltimore still going to cheer for Ray Rice?”
