Tiger Woods' Return Generates Buzz For Quicken Loans National

The PGA Tour Quicken Loans National tees off today at Congressional Country Club, and Tiger Woods' presence in the field "clearly gins up interest" in the event, which benefits his foundation (NEWSDAY, 6/26). FOX SPORTS' Robert Lusetich writes, "There's no question the game misses him. There's domination now, but it's by committee. ... The PGA Tour isn't going to be sustained by journeymen." Woods "brings not just greatness to the table, but star power. Or at least, he used to." The "biggest question in the game is ... can he rise again?" (FOXSPORTS.com, 6/25)

PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem said, "He's the most impactful player that's in the sport and has been for a long time. It gets people refocused on his career and his drive. Short-term benefits are that it sells more tickets, but that's not really important. It's just having him in the sport" (AP, 6/25).
