EA Sports Unveils 16-Player Bracket For "Madden" Cover Athlete Vote

EA Sports last night during the NFL Draft announced its field for the cover vote for the forthcoming “Madden NFL 15.” The company unveiled a 16-player field, down considerably from a 64-player brackets in recent years, led by top seeds Seahawks CB Richard Sherman and Panthers QB Cam Newton. Longtime partner ESPN again is aiding EA Sports on the effort, including staging the vote at ESPN.com/maddenvote, and the winner will be announced live on "SportsCenter" on June 6. The field will be winnowed weekly between now and the announcement of the cover winner. “Madden NFL 15” will be released Aug. 26.

This is the fifth year EA Sports has allowed fans to select the cover of “Madden NFL,” annually one of the world’s most popular sports video games. Pro Football HOFer Barry Sanders, winner of last year’s vote that pitted current players against retired legends, announced the vote during the Draft.
