Laugh Track....Lite On His Feet

CBS’ David Letterman: “Interesting fact and one of those things that you learn then forget about it, but whenever you hear it, it really gets your attention. The planet Earth is 71% water. No, wait a minute, that’s Yankee Stadium beer” (“Late Show,” CBS, 4/22).

NBC’s Jimmy Fallon: “I’m upset. ‘Price is Right’ host Drew Carey was sent home from ‘Dancing With The Stars’ after getting the lowest score of the night. That’s right, Drew had some technical problems, you know, like technically he’s not a professional dancer like everyone else on the show. … I just don’t understand this. There’s a comedian, Drew Carey, who we love. He’s going up against Gold Medal-winning dancers and he did not win. …The NHL playoffs are in full swing, with the top teams competing to make it to the Stanley Cup finals. Every year at the end of the regular season, they give out awards like ‘most valuable player.’ They also give out other awards, sort of like the ones in high school yearbooks like ‘most likely to succeed,’ ‘class clown,’ stuff like that.” A segment was shown where Fallon gave superlatives to NHL players while their pictures were shown on the screen. Fallon: “We have Boston Bruins left wing Brad Marchand. He was voted ‘most likely to play a pizza delivery guy in an 80’s movie about skiing.’ … Next we have Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara. He was voted ‘most likely to be two humans sewn together’” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 4/22).
