SportsNet LA Launched Yesterday, But Many Viewers Lack Access

Time Warner Cable's SportsNet LA launched yesterday, but "a large segment of fans in the team's viewing area weren't able to view the rollout due to distribution issues with various cable and satellite companies." Dodgers President Stan Kasten said, "We have a passionate fan base. I believe this network is what our fans want." But questions remain whether fans will "be able to get it – and at what price" (USA TODAY, 2/26). The net today will telecast its first Dodgers game, with the team's Spring Training opener against the D-Backs. Vin Scully will call the game (Mult., 2/26).

The RSN announced that Larry King will host a series on the recently launched network titled "Larry King At Bat." The hour-long show will debut Tuesday, March 18, at 7:00pm PT and will feature interviews with celebrities, baseball legends, Dodgers personalities and other figures. King is a Dodgers season-ticket holder (SportsNet LA).
