College Football Attendance Down In Last Weekend Of Bowl Season

The Clemson-Ohio State Discover Orange Bowl drew 72,080 fans to Sun Life Stadium on Friday night (COLUMBUS DISPATCH, 1/4). That figure is flat compared to the Florida State-Northern Illinois matchup last year (THE DAILY).

A crowd of 72,690 attended Friday’s Missouri-Oklahoma State AT&T Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 1/4). That is the lowest figure for the event since Auburn-Nebraska drew 66,777 fans to the Cotton Bowl stadium in Dallas in '07 (THE DAILY).

A crowd of 42,717 attended Saturday’s Vanderbilt-Houston BBVA Compass Bowl at Legion Field in Birmingham, down from a bowl-record 59,135 for last year’s game featuring Ole Miss and Pittsburgh (THE DAILY).

Arkansas State’s win over Ball State in yesterday’s GoDaddy Bowl drew 36,119 fans to Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. That figure is down 5% from the Arkansas State-Kent State matchup last year (THE DAILY).
