Sports Writers Decry Rodriguez' Behavior Amid MLB Hearings

Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez is generating headlines this morning after he stormed out of MLB suspension hearings yesterday and then sat for an impassioned interview with WFAN-AM's Mike Francesa. YAHOO SPORTS' Jeff Passan writes for Rodriguez, the episode "represented an altogether new level of hissy fitting, which is saying something." The N.Y. DAILY NEWS' John Harper: "It's just hard to believe that after all this time A-Rod would act so impulsively and storm out of the room without his lawyers signing off on it."

ESPN N.Y.'s Ian O'Connor writes Rodriguez "made one point that was hard to contest," that MLB Commissioner Bud Selig "should've shown up to face him, under oath." The N.Y. TIMES' Juliet Macur: "Rodriguez is so busy making himself the story that he doesn't leave anyone time to pay attention to the game that he says he loves so much."

The N.Y. POST's Ken Davidoff writes under the header, "Team A-Rod Plays For Popularity With Shot At Easy Target: Selig." The N.Y. DAILY NEWS' Mike Lupica goes with, "Yankees' Alex Rodriguez Finds Enough Blame For Everyone But Himself." The SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE's Dennis Lin: "In A-Rod v. Selig, Everyone Loses."

Not surprisingly, Rodriguez' actions provided back-page fodder for N.Y. newspapers:
