Predators play-by-play radio broadcaster Tom Callahan resigned yesterday for “personal reasons.” Willy Daunic will take over Callahan’s duties for “the team’s pending seven-game road trip” as a “search for a long-term replacement is underway.” Callahan had “been on the air since the start” of the ’08-09 season (TENNESSEAN.com, 10/28).

The Charlotte City Council last night voted to "move forward with planned renovations" of Bank of America Stadium. The city voted to accept the $28M price tag to begin phase one of the improvements (WSOCTV.com, 10/28).

The Double-A Eastern League Akron Aeros will “hold a news conference this morning to announce a name change that will include a new team logo and color scheme” (OHIO.com, 10/28).

FIFA will offer regional sponsorship packages for the '18 and '22 World Cups. A total of 20 regional packages will be available in the regions of North America, South America, Europe, Middle East & Africa and Asia (FIFA).

The Lightning announced new sponsorships with The Mosaic Co., Southern Ford Dealers, Corona, Lexus, World of Beer, Four Green Fields and Celebrity Cruises. Each of the new partners will have on-ice and in-game activations (Lightning).
