Laugh Track....You're My Boy, Blue

Dodgers P Clayton Kershaw appeared on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night. Kershaw said of the team's current success, “You can feel it in the crowd and feel it in the city. Fifty-six thousand, that place is packed. It’s so much fun.” Kershaw said of appearing in his first MLB game, “I’m sitting in my locker, not really paying attention, just kind of looking at everything like a kid. I reach in and I grab a jersey which I think is mine and I go out for the anthem. Lo and behold I had put on Jason Schmidt’s jersey.” Kershaw added, “Jason, he’s a huge prankster, he thinks it’s hilarious. He puts on my jersey and then we go stand on the dugout rail for the National Anthem and he tells the Jumbotron guy, ‘Hey, put it on Kershaw right here,’ and so I’m like, 'Okay this is probably what they do to the new guy.'” Kershaw: “I see my face on the Jumbotron and they screen right to my back and I got this big Schmidt 29 jersey on. It was a good welcome to the big league moment for me" (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 7/29).

X Games medal winner Mitchie Brusco appeared on TBS' "Conan" last night, who as a 16 year old became the first skateboarder to land a 1080 in the mega-ramp competition last May. Brusco skateboarded on-stage and told host Conan O'Brien that it's possible to do more than three 360-degree spins like he did because "people do more on snowboards." O'Brien: "Ahhh those guys, who knows what they're on" ("Conan," TBS, 7/29).

NBC’s Jay Leno: “We have a new nominee for idiot criminal of the month. Beaverton, Oregon, a guy tried to rob a gun store with a baseball bat. They're calling it the most ineffective use of a bat since the Miami Marlins. … Rapper DMX has been arrested again, this time in South Carolina for DUI. You know, he's been arrested so many times he’s thinking of changing his name from DMX to NFL. The NFL training camps are now under way, and because of all the recent arrests, it's really changed the way they play the game. Like a lot of quarterbacks now are refusing to call out their signals unless their attorneys are present. Things aren't looking good for former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez. Looks like he may spend the rest of his life in jail. Well, on the plus side Hernandez says he's looking forward to playing on the prison football team under coach Whitey Bulger. … OJ Simpson is supposedly up to something like 300 pounds. OJ is now the leading cause of prison overcrowding. Did you know that? Did you see him in People magazine? The orange jumpsuit? He looked like the great pumpkin. That's how fat. OJ is so fat at his parole hearing, his only two character witnesses were Ben and Jerry. … OJ is so fat he's asking for the death penalty just so he can get the last meal” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 7/29).
