MLB Rangers fans "showed up at Rangers Ballpark" before 3:00pm CT yesterday for a giveaway of bobblehead dolls in the likeness of P Yu Darvish. Gates opened at 5:00pm, but that "didn't keep fans from waiting outside in the hot temperatures for a shot at one of the 20,000 bobbleheads." An underground pipe burst behind the pitcher’s mound at Rangers Ballpark yesterday, “soaking the area and creating a sinkhole.” The grounds crew was “able to make repairs in time” for the game, but both the Rangers and Indians had to cancel batting practice (MLB.com, 6/11).
