Laugh Track....Making Copies

CBS Sports Network’s Jim Rome appeared on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” last night and when asked if he filled out brackets for the NCAA Men’s Tournament this year, Rome said, “This year I did.” Rome said he normally doesn’t because “there’s this guy that I refer to as ‘bracket guy.’ Bracket guy’ is the guy in the office – and every office has one – the guy that takes the best event in sports and he ruins it because he’s up in everybody’s face all the time. ‘Your picks suck, these are the right picks. You might as well just pay me right now.’ So normally I don’t, I steer clear of bracket guy, but this year I did.” Host Jay Leno said, “Now you seem like you could be ‘bracket guy.’” Rome: “No, because I know that I’m not good at it, bracket guy thinks he knows everything.” Leno: “Why aren’t you good at it, you follow this stuff?” Rome: “Because nobody’s good at it. Rick Pitino, coach at Louisville, I said to him before the tournament, ‘This thing is wide open right now. Who would you take?’ He goes, ‘You could ask any two-year-old and they’d know more than you or me, Rome’” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 4/2).

CBS’ David Letterman: “It’s hard not to feel great now because of spring and baseball, I know I am. Yesterday, the Mets won. The New York Mets won their game against San Diego. Sad news from the Bronx, the Yankees were defeated, so there goes their perfect season” (“Late Show,” CBS, 4/2).
