The IOC has awarded the Latin American broadcast rights to the '14 Sochi and '16 Rio Games to Mexico-based America Movil. It marks "the first time the IOC has granted rights to America Movil," which is controlled by billionaire Carlos Slim. Financial terms were not disclosed (AP, 3/22).

Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn has asked the Seattle Sports Commission to "open informal discussions about a possible bid" to host the '24 Olympics (SEATTLE TIMES, 3/22).

The MLB Rangers have signed a multiyear deal for Oakley to become the team's official eyewear. The deal includes signage at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington (Rangers).

World Baseball Classic Inc. is running a full-page ad in this morning's USA Today congratulating the Dominican Republic team for winning this year's tournament. The headline reads, "They Aimed For The Stars And Captured The World" (THE DAILY).
