Dennis Rodman Says Lakers Owner Jerry Buss "Was Like My Dad"

Basketball HOFer Dennis Rodman appeared on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” last night to promote his new children’s book, “Dennis the Wild Bull.” Host Jay Leno noted the passing of Lakers Owner Jerry Buss and Rodman became very emotional saying, “He was like my dad. I never had a dad so. But he’s just awesome, man.”

Leno said, “Your old buddy Michael Jordan turned 50. Did you get him a gift?” Rodman: “I sure did, I said, ‘Thank you.’” Rodman said he appeared on NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” because “I think Donald Trump thought I needed help. I respect him. I think he wanted to show people that I’m not weird.” Rodman said of fellow “Celebrity Apprentice” competitor Gary Busey, “Oh my God, that guy is nuts.” Leno: “Wow, Dennis Rodman thinks Gary Busey is nuts!” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 2/18).
