The Dodgers open Spring Training at Camelback Ranch today in Arizona with a projected opening-day payroll of $230M, the highest in MLB history (L.A. TIMES, 2/12).  This comes almost two year after the team was in bankruptcy and it "sure seems like a long time ago now.”

LOCOG today announced that security firm G4S has "agreed to take a hit" of US$133M "over its failure to meet the terms of its contract" for the '12 London Games (AP, 2/12).

John Hancock Financial and Boston's WBZ-CBS have extended their partnership "on the exclusive broadcast of the Boston Marathon" until '16 (BOSTONHERALD.com, 2/11).

The Big Ten will increase its conference schedule "from eight games to nine or 10 soon after the additions" of Maryland and Rutgers (ESPN.com, 2/11).
