Joe Flacco Discusses Contract Talks, Player Safety On "Late Show"

Ravens QB and Super Bowl XLVII MVP Joe Flacco appeared on CBS' “Late Show” last night and discussed contract extension negotiations with team Owner Steve Bisciotti: “Earlier in the year when I wasn’t signing what they wanted me to sign, he said, ‘Listen, when the time comes you can come and beat on my desk.’ I said, 'All right, I’ll take you up on that,' and I think the time has come.” CBS' David Letterman asked whether Flacco found the timing of the power outage “suspicious” as the Ravens were leading 28-6. Flacco said, “Don’t get me started. My dad is a big conspiracy theorist, so that’s the last thing we need to talk about.”

Letterman asked, “Would you encourage your son to play football?” Flacco said, “Yeah, no doubt about it. … Football is a great sport and it’s the reason why I’m able to live the life I live today and the reason he’s going to grow up the way he’s going to grow up.” Flacco said he has never had a concussion and “there are a lot of precautions taken today” (“Late Show,” CBS, 2/4).
