Today's Events....

The Lakers will unveil a statue of Basketball HOFer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the Star Plaza outside Staples Center. Speakers at the unveiling will include Magic Johnson, James WorthyPat Riley and Jerry West. An 11-city tour of some of Abdul-Jabbar's memorabilia will begin in conjunction with the statue unveiling.

The Baseball HOF & Museum will open its Autumn Glory exhibit, which honors World Series champions, with numerous artifacts from the Giants' title this season.

In support of COPD Awareness Month, NASCAR and DRIVE4COPD will host a golf tournament for official partners and industry members at the Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Fla.

Former NBAer Sam Perkins will run a clinic for a group of coaches from South Sudan at the Wizards practice facility. The group is currently in DC for a Sports Visitor program run in partnership with the U.S. State Department and the NBA.

Indiana Univ.'s School of Informatics & Computing and the Building Entrepreneurs in Software & Technology will host "A Conversation with Mark Cuban" at Indiana Memorial Union's Whittenberger Auditorium. Cuban graduated from Indiana in '81.
