The Virginia Beach City Council today is "scheduled to hear a presentation" on a study "gauging the economic impact of a proposed arena at the Virginia Beach oceanfront" (AP, 11/13).

Mount St. Mary's Univ. will discontinue three of its Division I teams in '13 "in an effort to reduce its athletics budget." The elimination of men's soccer, along with men's and women's golf, will save the school more than $400,000 annually (Baltimore SUN, 11/13).

The Austin-Bergstrom Int'l Airport has expanded its customs facility with "an influx of international race fans set to begin arriving" today for this weekend's U.S. Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas. Fifty-eight int'l charter and private flights will be "coming in over the next few days" for the F1 weekend (AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN, 11/13).
