Modell's Sponsoring Harlem Globetrotters Game At Barclays Center

The first basketball game at the new Barclays Center will not be a Nets contest, but Sunday's Harlem Globetrotters appearance. Modell's Sporting Goods, which has a store across the street from Barclays Center, has signed a regional sponsorship to welcome them. The deal also includes support for nine additional shows on the Globetrotters’ '13 “You Write the Rules” World Tour. Activation plans include in-store meet-and-greets with Globetrotters players, a consumer sweeps offering front seats, and HG unique experiences for Modell's frequency/loyalty program. POS and print advertising support the sponsorship. The Leverage Agency, N.Y., brokered the deal for the Globetrotters.
