Laugh Track....Statue Of Limitations

CBS’ David Letterman: “Here's some good news. They found a home … (for) the big Joe Paterno statue, Penn State coach Joe Paterno. They had a seven-foot, 900-pound statue of Joe Paterno and they had to take it down. People were saying, ‘Well, who wants it? Bob?’ ‘No.’ ‘Kenny, do you want it?’ ‘No, where would I…the wife would kill me.’ … They finally found a home for it. I think we have a picture of the new home for Joe. There it is. It is at Bob's.” A picture was shown of the Paterno statue in front of Bob’s Big Boy restaurant with Paterno holding a plate in the air with a cheeseburger on it. More Letterman: “Mitt Romney … is going to be in London for the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics. As a matter of fact, he plans to take his tax returns, drop them into the torch and then that will be it” (“Late Show,” CBS, 7/25).

NBC’s Jay Leno: “Mitt Romney is now in London. He's in London today to see his horse compete in the dressage event. Dressage is kind of like horse ballet, basically. Finally something that connects Romney with the average American voter. … One of the big stars of the Olympics this year is Lolo Jones. We had her on the show, a very nice woman. She's 29 years old and still a virgin. She should be commended because she did it the hard way, without being a ‘Star Trek’ fan. … NBC has unveiled their new Olympic slogan: ‘Please watch, it’s all we’ve got!’ … NBC is using all of its channels. There are so many NBC channels. Every NBC channel will have some Olympic event. Well, here's the promo.” The promo featured people watching Olympic highlights in their homes with the announcer saying, “On July 27th, the Summer Games come to NBC's family of channels. In addition to 270 hours of Olympic coverage on NBC, tune in to CNBC for boxing, MSNBC for soccer and NBC Animal Channel for cat gymnastics, NBC Amish for equestrian events and NBC Country for diving coverage. The Olympics on NBC” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 7/25).
