NASCAR has suspended Kurt Busch until June 13 and extended his probation until Dec. 31 after the driver's actions following Saturday's Nationwide Series 5-Hour Energy 200 at Dover Int'l Speedway, which included insulting a reporter (NASCAR).

The Lakers announced that they have signed radio play-by-play announcer John Ireland and color commentator Mychal Thompson to multiyear contract extensions (Lakers).

An estimated 25,000 gamblers played on the 1,791 video lottery terminals during the first three days of casino operation last weekend at the Scioto Downs Casino & Racetrack. Scioto Downs is the state of Ohio's "first combination racetrack and video lottery terminal casino" (DISPATCH.com, 6/5).

The Big East transferred a lawsuit filed against it by the Univ. of Pittsburgh from Allegheny County Common Pleas Court to U.S. District Court. Pitt seeks damages for "several transactions it has had to make in its effort to leave" the conference for the ACC (POST-GAZETTE.com, 6/4).

Electronic Arts unveiled an EA Sports Football Club app for the iPhone and iPod touch and announced that the FIFA 13 game for the iPhone, iPod and Android will be able to connect to the EA Sports Club platform (Electronic Arts).
