HP Byron Nelson Championship Unveils Several Social Media Initiatives

This week’s PGA Tour HP Byron Nelson Championship, which tees off today in Dallas, will unveil several new social media initiatives designed to connect with and reward fans at TPC Las Colinas. Twitter posts tagged with #HPBNC will be streamed on full-color, big screen TVs and scoreboards. The Cadillac Social Zone, a climate-controlled fan hospitality area near the main entrance, is intended to attract Facebook and Twitter users with a smart phone-friendly space with a full bar, games, music and player meet-and-greets. The most active tweeters will be eligible for free ticket upgrades and special prizes, including daily VIT (Very Important Tweeter) status that comes with special access to an HP seating area. HP also will provide fans with regular updates on the best way to experience the tournament (parking, seating, events). HP called the social media initiatives its way to reinforce its branding through the tournament.
