Marlins Park hosts its first regular-season game tonight with a visit from the Cardinals, and media outlets are planning special coverage. A live pregame show presented by Showtime's "The Franchise: A Season with the Miami Marlins" will stream on MLB.com and Marlins.com from 3:00-5:00pm ET. Marlins TV announcer Rich Waltz will moderate a panel "during a remote show on the West Plaza of Marlins Park," with scheduled appearances by Tony La Russa, Frank Thomas, Jack Morris and Jeff Conine (MLB.com, 4/2). ESPN's "Baseball Tonight" will air a one-hour pregame show from the venue starting at 6:00pm, and ESPN2's "Dan Le Batard is Highly Questionable" will air from Marlins Park at 4:30pm (ESPN).

- MLB Network analysts Al Leiter, Kevin Millar and Sean Casey, plus the nine MLB Fan Cave "Cave Dwellers," will light the Empire State Building red, white and blue in an early afternoon ceremony to celebrate Opening Day (MLB Network).
- Time Warner Cable announced that MLB Network will launch today for former Insight subscribers in the Ohio Valley/Northern Kentucky region (Time Warner Cable).
- ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike in the Morning" originated from the MLB Fan Cave in N.Y. Guests on this morning's show, which began airing at 6:00am ET, include MLB Commissioner Bud Selig (THE DAILY)
