MLB Owners Set To Vote On Surviving Dodgers' Bid Groups

MLB owners today will hold a conference call to vote on the three surviving bids for the Dodgers. All of the bidders are "expected to be approved, although some owners have concern about the financial structure of the group" fronted by Magic Johnson and Stan Kasten. After the vote, approved bidders "can begin final negotiations" with team Owner Frank McCourt and Blackstone Advisory Partners in N.Y. tomorrow (NEWHANONBASEBALL.com, 3/25).

Meanwhile, the Dodgers Dream Foundation's Dreamfield program "radically accelerated in" '11, building or renovating 10 Southern California youth baseball fields after delivering nine from '03-10. The Dodgers are "rushing to complete six more fields this year – before April 30, when McCourt is scheduled to transfer ownership to new hands." Dodgers Senior VP/Public Affairs Howard Sunkin said that he is "confident the Dodgers' new owner will continue the program" (LATIMES.com, 3/26).
