Mets Said To Have Commitments From Seven New Investors

The Mets have reportedly received "seven commitments to purchase minority shares of the team." The team in September announced that it would try to sell 10 units at $20M each. The names of the prospective investors "have been submitted" to MLB, which "has begun its vetting process." The source also said that the Mets intend to pay back the $25M they borrowed from the league "when the new partners are approved." No timetable was given "for the completion of the unit sales" (NEWSDAY, 11/18).
