EPL club Liverpool has "been granted another extension by Liverpool City Council to decide whether to build a new stadium" (LIVERPOOL ECHO, 9/26).

MLB announced that Saturday's Rockies-Astros game at Minute Maid Park was the 200,000th regular-season game in its history (MLB.com, 9/25).

Red Bull Racing "expects to layoff 152 employees when it shutters operations in December" (AP, 9/23).

Eddie Sharp Racing (ESR) has "acquired a controlling interest in two Kevin Harvick Inc. teams in the Camping World Truck Series." ESR, which currently fields a truck for driver Justin Lofton, switched from Toyota to Chevrolet last week "as it begins to put KHI trucks in the fleet" (SCENEDAILY.com, 9/23). 

Former NASCAR team Owner Ray Evernham has joined Speed as a regular analyst on the net's "Speed Central" news program (Speed).

SiriusXM today will begin airing a show from Mark Packer on its "College Sports Nation" channel. Packer's show will air from 9:00am-noon ET (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 9/24).
