In Minnesota, A Fifth Round Of "Secret" NFL Labor Talks

NFLPA reps involved in labor talks with the NFL traveled to Minnesota yesterday for "a fifth round of 'secret talks' with the league," according to a source. Minnesota is home to Arthur Boylan, the federal magistrate assigned to run court-ordered mediation who has been present for previous talks. Talks are expected to continue into next month, and "time is of the essence," as "significant work must be done before the parties can strike a deal." The Rams and Bears, who are scheduled to play the '11 HOF Game, are "set to open training camp just three weeks from Friday" (NFL.com, 6/27).

Have a question about the status of the NFL’s labor talks? E-mail us your questions and we will have SportsBusiness Journal NFL writer Daniel Kaplan answer them in our NFL CBA mailbag.
