Alisher Usmanov Looking To Limit Stan Kroenke's Stake In Arsenal

Arsenal investor Alisher Usmanov has responded to team Owner Stan Kroenke's takeover bid of US$19,000 per share in the EPL club by offering US$22,700 "to any shareholder wishing to sell their stake." The offer places the theoretical value of the club at US$1.4B. Kroenke has already secured 63% in the club, but Usmanov "remains determined to limit Kroenke's overall stake and has paid in excess" of US$19,500 for shares even while the team has been under offer. Kroenke's unconditional offer expires on Friday. Usmanov has "rejected the chance to sell any of his existing 27 per cent stake to Kroenke" (TELEGRAPH.co.uk, 5/25).
