Minor League Baseball's Licensed Merchandise Revenue Up 12%

Robust sales across all platforms led to a 12% increase in Minor League Baseball licensed merchandise revenue in '10, according to data obtained by SportsBusiness Journal and scheduled to be released today by the league. The 160 U.S.- and Canadian-based clubs that were affiliated with MLB teams last year generated $51.1M through the sales of apparel, headwear and novelties, trailing only pre-recession '08 as the highest annual total ever.

MiLB also released its annual list of the 25 clubs that generated the most merchandise revenue. The list includes the Double-A Eastern League Richmond Flying Squirrels, while the Triple-A International League Durham Bulls have made the list every year since '93, the first season MiLB began tracking sales data.
