NFL Players Could Report To Their Teams' Facilities This Morning

The news of Judge Susan Nelson granting an injunction against the NFL lockout "set the stage for an interesting Tuesday morning, with the possibility of many players reporting to their respective team's headquarters." NFL Senior VP/PR Greg Aiello said, "If a player comes to the facility, he will be treated courteously and with respect" (NFL.com, 4/25). Sources said that teams "were told not to open their weight rooms nor engage in any contract discussions, but to let their players in the building." The league also "intends to get security in place for players to come in" to avoid potential contact with the media. The NFL plans to "debrief teams again in the morning with further instructions" (ESPN.com, 4/25).

The NFLPA in an e-mail "didn't recommend that players show up" today, "only that they are allowed to." Chargers C and player rep Nick Hardwick said that players and NFLPA representatives will hold a conference call this afternoon "to decide on a course of action" (NORTH COUNTY TIMES, 4/25).
