NFL Labor Talks With Mediator Head Into Final Scheduled Day

Today is the seventh and last day of "scheduled talks" between the NFL and NFLPA overseen by federal mediator George Cohen. The two sides "have abided by a media blackout that Cohen requested, so it is unclear if talks will continue" after today. Also today, the league is expected to brief coaches and GMs at the scouting combine in Indianapolis on "operational issues in the off-season if no deal is reached by March 3." Union leaders tomorrow will "similarly brief player agents" (N.Y. TIMES, 2/24).

Sources said that the NFLPA today will meet with a "select group of player agents" in Indianapolis ahead of tomorrow's meeting with a "massive body" of agents (NFL.com, 2/18). The scouting combine starts today and runs through Tuesday. A field of 333 players has been invited (L.A. TIMES, 2/24).
