Twins C Joe Mauer Making TV Rounds To Promote Sony Video Game

Twins C Joe Mauer appeared on NBC's "Late Night" last night and promoted Sony's "MLB 11: The Show" video game, due for release on PS3 on March 8. Mauer is the cover athlete for the second year in a row, and host Jimmy Fallon said, "Dude, you're on the cover of a video game." Mauer: "That's awesome." Fallon: "A lot of people love you. You're very popular. ... The reason why I love you is because ... you had the option to leave the Twins. You came out of St. Paul and you signed up with the Twins until 2018 when you could have signed with anyone and got millions more dollars. You didn't do it and that's so cool that you did that. You're kind of like the anti-LeBron of baseball." Mauer: "I appreciate it." Fallon and Mauer played home run derby on "MLB 11: The Show" and after Mauer swung and missed a pitch, Fallon said, "This is embarrassing" ("Late Night," NBC, 2/15).

Mauer today will appear on numerous ESPN shows between 9:00am-4:00pm ET to promote Sony's video game (THE DAILY).
