Quebec City, Province To Split Cost Of New NHL-Ready Arena

Quebec Premier Jean Charest and Quebec City Mayor Regis Labeaume today will announce that the city and provincial government "will split the cost of a new arena 50-50." They also will unveil a possible location and construction timeline. This "Plan B" comes after talks with Canada's federal government "failed to produce a clear funding pledge." The project is "moving ahead without a firm commitment from the NHL" (GLOBE & MAIL, 2/10).
