FINAL JEOPARDY QUESTION

Last night's "Final Jeopardy!" category was "Advertising."

"In 2002 H&R Block used a version of this 1966 song in its TV commercials."

LAUGH TRACK

THE MONOLOGUES:

CBS' David Letterman: "Sunday night (CBS is airing) 'The Jackie Gleason Story.'  Try to watch it.  This has got me really upset because this is what CBS does.  You take a comedian who worked for this network for years and years and years and made millions and millions and millions of dollars for them and you wait until he dies, and then they trash him, and I'm next! ... Subway fares (have been increased) $0.50.  So each subway ride is going to cost you $0.50 more.  Of course, that will include a lap dance. ... There was a guy coming from Thailand to (L.A.), and they arrested the guy because he was smuggling monkeys in his pants. ... It's pretty bad when you have to fight your pants over the salted peanuts. ... Flight attendants became suspicious during the meal service when they saw the guy slip a dinner roll into his fly. ... All hell broke loose when the monkeys tried to peel him" ("Late Show," CBS, 10/10).

NBC's Jay Leno: "Over 120 million Americans are either overweight or obese.  The good news – our kids are the best damn video game players in the world. ... Two American scientists have just won the Nobel Prize for economics.  They won for almost figuring out what the hell (President) Bush's new economic plan really is. ... The Bengals announced they'll have a new starting (QB) this Sunday, but they won't say who it is until just before the game.  I guess they don't want to scare him off.  He might not show up."  Leno, on Andy Rooney's comments about female reporters: "(Rooney's) been on '60 Minutes' for 30 years.  I don't know what the hell he's talking about half the time. ... Women reporters are not the problem with the NFL. The Cincinnati Bengals – that's the problem."  Magic Johnson made a surprise visit during Leno's monologue.  Johnson came out, hugged Leno and left ("The Tonight Show," NBC, 10/10).

LATE NIGHT LAUGHS:

Last night's "Top Ten" was "Top Ten Fun Things The Army Yells While Rappelling."  The list was read by soldiers of the Army's 101st Airborne Division and the 10th Mountain Division as they rappelled down the side of the Ed Sullivan Theater ("Late Show," CBS, 10/10).

10) "Spider-Man – kiss my ass!"

9) "If we get deployed overseas, tape 'Becker' for me!"

8) "All this and Andy Rooney, tonight on '60 Minutes.'"

7) "Gooooooooal!"

6) "Help me, Dr. Phil!"

5) "Rope burns are cool!"

4) "I love cookies!"

3) "Feng shui!"

2) "Live from New York, it's Saturday night!"

1) "Weeeeeeeeeee!"

THURSDAY NIGHT'S TV MONITOR

ESPN's 1:00am ET "SportsCenter" led with NLCS Game Two, Giants-Cards.
