Field of Dreams venue to host MiLB game in lead-up to Cubs-Reds

The High-A Midwest League Cedar Rapids Kernels and Quad Cities River Bandits will play at the Field of Dreams ballpark on Aug. 9, according to Tommy Birch of the DES MOINES REGISTER. That game will come two days before the Cubs face the Reds on Aug. 11 in MLB's second Field of Dreams game. The Kernels and Bandits will "get big-league treatment as they serve as the warmup for this year’s big-league game," with the game having "all the makings of a big-league game." The MLB Network crew will be in Dyersville, Iowa, that week and will be "handling the game." Harold Reynolds will be the analyst, with Greg Amsinger on play-by-play duties and Jon Morosi the broadcast team’s reporter (DES MOINES REGISTER, 8/3).
