Texans prize organizational continuity in promoting Grissom to president

The Texans named Greg Grissom team president, promoting him from Senior VP/Corporate Development, a move which allows the team to "maintain continuity" through Grissom's "strong relationships and experience interacting with corporate sponsors, community leaders and charities," according to Aaron Wilson of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. Grissom "has operated as a key lieutenant" since the Texans' inaugural season in '02, and his elevation to president "marks Grissom's fifth promotion since he started working" for the team. Grissom "has been handling the duties of team president" since Jamey Rootes' resignation in February. The Texans' interview process included him, team CMO Jennifer Davenport and "three external candidates," including former Washington Football Team Senior VP/Communications Tony Wyllie (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 3/25).
