Sources: Nets Beating Knicks In N.Y. Viewership Since Harden's Debut

Since Harden joined the Nets, the Knicks’ average viewership has dropped 13%NBAE/GETTY IMAGES

The Nets are "outperforming" the Knicks in viewership in the N.Y. market since F James Harden's debut on Jan. 16, according to sources cited by Marc Berman of the N.Y. POST. The Nets in their eight games on YES Network since Harden's arrival are leading the Knicks on MSG Network "by an average" of 10%. Those numbers factor in Knicks games on MSG Network and MSG Plus. Sources said that the Nets are "averaging 122,000 viewers per game to the Knicks’ 111,000 viewers." One potential factor "hurting the Knicks’ numbers, besides the losing, is they were on the West Coast for four of their nine games since Jan. 16, meaning the start times were later in the evening." The Knicks’ average viewership has dropped 13% "since Harden’s arrival" (N.Y. POST, 2/4).
