The Golden Knights yesterday spent a "'recovery day' cross training with coaches and performers from Cirque du Soleil." The outing was organized by Golden Knights Dir of Sports Performance JAY MELLETTE, who "previously worked for Cirque du Soleil." The players "rotated through several different stations that included juggling, balance exercises, a rope climb, and basic trampoline skills." The tissue flight apparatus, which "features two sheets wrapped around the shoulders to create a harness, was a favorite among the players" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 2/15).
COURT REPORT: JUAN CARLOS NUNEZ, a previous employee for Brooklyn-based ACES sports agency, filed a "bombshell complaint in New York State Supreme Court Monday," naming ACES and sports agent brothers SETH and SAM LEVINSON as defendants. The complaint alleges that after Nunez signed a contract to work for ACES beginning in '06, he "was told that he had to do ‘whatever it took’ to recruit and retain players as ACES clients." That meant "making under-the-table payments to players and their friends and family, helping players obtain and use performance-enhancing drugs to get bigger contracts and ultimately engaging in an elaborate coverup to hide the misconduct" from MLB and the MLBPA (N.Y.
