Sports Performance Tracking’s SPT2 GPS Device Is For Amateur Athletes

Maybe you’re an amateur athlete who gets away with loafing at practice. You sprint when coaches are watching and walk when they aren’t. If so, you’re not going to be a fan of Sports Performance Tracking‘s (SPT) new device, SPT2.

SPT2 is a cloud-based wearable device designed as a low-cost fitness analytics monitor for amateur athletes. It’s available worldwide and priced at $249.

“Professional athletes have the resources to easily access valuable data that helps improve their game,” SPT CEO and founder Will Strange said in a statement. “While players at the amateur level often put as many endless hours into training, many don’t have the resources to pay for expensive systems that enable them to see how hard they’re working and where they can improve.”

Designed for outdoor sports, the small device fits inside an undergarment chest piece to track performance during practice and games. Say you’re a soccer player using the device; you can understand which parts of the field you’ve spent the most time in, how far you ran during a game, how often you ran, jogged or sprinted, etc.

“SPT2 gives players at the grass roots level the same performance data and technology pros use at a much more accessible price,” Strange said. “Our advanced hardware and software provide unparalleled statistics on how hard, far and fast players are working, allowing coaches and teams to turn subjective feedback into objective data for the best possible game-time decisions.”

SPT2 makes coaching decisions in any outdoor sport simpler as team performance reports can be created to show who’s working and who’s slacking.
