The year was an especially active one for new sports facilities opening or reopening after extensive renovations.

  • Orlando City Stadium – The raucous $155M home to Orlando City SC and its supporters’ Purple Wall
  • SunTrust Park and The Battery Atlanta – The Braves’ new $672M ballpark and the first phase of the team’s 1.5 million-square-foot mixed-use development
  • Mercedes-Benz Stadium – The $1.5B, cutting-edge home of the Falcons
  • Little Caesars Arena – The $870M downtown Detroit home of the Red Wings and Pistons
  • Colorado State Stadium – The $220M stadium brought football to the Fort Collins, Colo., campus for the first time in 49 years
  • USTA National Campus (Lake Nona) – The 63-acre, $100M home of pro, college and recreational tennis in Orlando
  • UFC Performance Institute (and HQ) – The 184,000-square-foot HQ and training center for the UFC in Las Vegas
  • Notre Dame Stadium (renovation) – The 87-year-old football stadium’s $400M facelift, featuring premium seating and a new video board
  • Georgia State Stadium – The $100M transformation of the former Turner Field into a college football stadium
  • Nassau Coliseum (renovation) – The 45-year-old arena reopened after an 18-month, $260M renovation.
