Virtual Reality Quarterback Challenge Tours High Schools

Each year, American Family Insurance (AFI) sponsors two All-American bowl games for outstanding players at the high school level — the Under Armour All-America game and U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Some of the brightest present-day NFL stars have suited up in these games; Jameis Winston, Odell Beckham Jr., Julio Jones, etc.

Now the creator of various innovative digital content, Groove Jones, is cooking up a VR experience to market the games at high schools across the country. It’s called the Quarterback Challenge and will have fans testing their arm strength and accuracy on a virtual stage.

There are two separate versions of the game, one for each of the separate games that are branded for Under Armour and the U.S. Army. Participants compete to see who can throw the most balls through moving targets hovering around the virtual field. It might not make you as accurate as the guys actually on the field, but you’ll earn some bragging rights nonetheless.

AFI has hosted a selection tour, making stops across the country and visiting various high schools as players were named to the rosters of the games. During this time, the Quarterback Challenge will be used to get students excited about the games.

The Under Armour All-America game and U.S. Army All-American Bowl will be held on Jan. 4 and 6, respectively, in 2018.
