NBA 2K League Releases Official Logo In Advance Of First Season

The NBA 2K League released its logo today, showing for the first time how the electronic offshoot of the NBA will seek to create a distinct identity while still exploiting the core product’s popularity. The logo retains the red, white and blue look of the classic NBA design, but replaces the player image with a stylized, compressed basketball. "The absence of that silhouette is meant to show the inclusiveness of the league,” said NBA 2K League Managing Dir Brendan Donohue. “We’re just looking for the best 85 players in the world, regardless of man-woman, tall-short, young-old, domestic or international." Mississippi-based RARE Design created the design. It also worked with the 17 participating franchises on their own 2K logos, which will be gradually released in the coming days. League play will begin in May.
