ADWEEK's Kristina Monllos reported Honda "won't have an ad" during CBS' broadcast of Super Bowl LII. A Honda spokesperson in a statement said the automaker will advertise "during the upcoming NFL playoffs." It is "unclear if Honda has plans for a social campaign or guerilla-style Super Bowl effort" (ADWEEK.com, 11/29).

GETTING THE POINT ACROSS: In Las Vegas, Ron Kantowski notes Las Vegas Motor Speedway and South Point Hotel & Casino on Thursday "announced a multiyear agreement that will result" in the fall Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series event "being branded the South Point 400." LVMS President Chris Powell said that he was "indebted" to South Point Owner Michael Gaughan and the track's marketing team for "making the sponsorship happen during a time when NASCAR sponsorships don’t happen easily" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 12/1).

PEDAL TO THE METAL: In Chicago, Mark Gonzales notes Cubs 3B Kris Bryant recently "drove around a race track in Austria at speeds exceeding 111 mph" at an event sponsored by Red Bull, which is "one of several products" Bryant endorses. Bryant was there on his "honeymoon with wife Jessica" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 12/1).
