MLB Giants, Concessionaire Centerplate Part Ways After A Quarter-Century

The MLB Giants and Centerplate jointly announced they are parting ways at AT&T Park after the team and the food vendor could not reach an agreement on a contract extension. Centerplate has run the Giants’ food service since '93, dating to Candlestick Park. AT&T Park had developed a reputation for serving some of the best general concessions in MLB (Bon Appetit runs the ballpark’s premium dining). In a news release, Giants officials said they would announce a new vendor in the coming weeks. For Centerplate, which was recently acquired by Sodexo, the Giants were one of Centerplate's highest revenue-generating contracts. This is the second MLB team to drop Centerplate this year, as the Rays have switched to Levy at Tropicana Field for the '18 season.
