NFL Attendance Down 2.5% Through Week 12; L.A. Teams Continue To See Declines

NFL attendance is down through the first 12 weeks of the ’17 season. Clubs are averaging 67,994 fans per game, down 2.5% from 69,755 for the same time period last season. The Cowboys lead all teams with just under 93,000 fans per game at AT&T Stadium, while the Jets top all AFC teams with 77,562 fans. The Lions are leading all franchises with an increase of 7.4% per game at Ford Field. Two teams are playing in new venues this season. The Falcons at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium are averaging over 71,000 fans, while the Chargers -- who relocated from San Diego to the much smaller StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. -- are averaging a league-worst 25,309 fans. The Rams are down 25% in their second season playing at L.A. Memorial Coliseum, despite leading the NFC West standings. The Bengals are down 19% for games at Paul Brown Stadium.
