Mavericks Owner MARK CUBAN discussed a potential run for president and his public feuds with PRESIDENT TRUMP, noting there are "people who are saying we don’t need another business person." Cuban: "But it’s about what you do with it, what you learn, what you can contribute and what value you can add. I’d want to come in with proof of an agenda, ‘Here’s a health care solution and I’ve already paid my own money to have it scored.’ ... He’s so ineffective, people will look for somebody who can get something done who’s not a politician." Asked if he would send DENNIS RODMAN to negotiate with North Korea leader KIM JONG-UN, Cuban said, "Why not?" Cuban said of Trump, "Last time I talked to him was via email when he asked me why I went negative on him. And I sent him an email back saying, ‘At some point, you have to learn the issues'" (NYTIMES.com, 10/27).

NAMES: Texans DE J.J. WATT on Thursday revealed his plan for what to do with the $37M he helped raise for Hurricane Harvey relief. Watt said that he will "direct the money to focus on four areas: rebuilding homes, restoring child-care centers, distributing food and providing medical and mental health services." He added that he will "partner with four charities: SBP: Disaster Resilience & Recovery, which will help with rebuilding homes; Save The Children, which will help to reestablish child care centers; Feeding America, which will handle food distribution; and Americares, which will help provide medical services" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 10/27)....Heat President PAT RILEY “was inducted” into the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Sports Hall of Champions, and ESPN’s DAN LEBATARD received a Lifetime Contribution to Sports award (MIAMI HERALD, 10/27)....Former MLBer FRANK WHITE was named the recipient of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum’s ’17 Buck O’Neil Legacy Award. He will be presented the award Nov. 11 (K.C. STAR, 10/27).
