Red Dawn: Dodgers' Turner Drawing Interest From Sponsors With Postseason Success

Dodgers 3B Justin Turner, who has become known for his long red beard, is "attracting the interest of potential sponsors," according to Liz Mullen of SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL. TLA Worldwide's Russ Spielman, who reps the co-NLCS MVP, has "been in talks with companies in the men's grooming products category" since Turner made the MLB All-Star Game. Talks "have accelerated" with the Dodgers' postseason run. Spielman said that no deals "would be done until after Turner’s season is over, but conversations have focused on his long red hair and long red beard." Spielman said, "We’ve had a number of conversations with a number of companies that have expressed interest in helping with his grooming, and we are exploring those opportunities." He clarified that he is "talking about both hair care and shaving" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 10/23 issue).

LISTEN TO THE LEGENDS: YAHOO SPORTS' Jeff Passan notes Adidas commissioned artist Chad Cantcolor to "turn a pair of bare white baseball cleats into a manic, color-splashed, acid-drop of fresh kicks" for Turner to wear during the World Series, However, before Game 1, Baseball HOFer Sandy Koufax told Turner he "better wear" the shoes he wore in the NLCS. Koufax was referring to a "simple, humble pair of Adidas spikes." Turner was wearing "those plain, blue-and-white shoes" when he hit the game-winning home run on Tuesday night (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 10/25).
