He is "seeking at least $50,000 in damages" and alleges the Cubs were negligent because Wrigley Field "does not have enough spectator netting" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 10/10)....NESN President & CEO SEAN MCGRAIL will attend the Cable TV Pioneers Dinner in Denver on Oct. 17, just before the start of the SCTE-ISBE Cable-Tec Expo (MULTICHANNEL.com, 10/9)....Former NFLer SHAWNE MERRIMAN recently “expanded his personal brand to launch Lights Out Drive, an initiative that gives children exposure to NASCAR.” That is why on Oct. 1, “100 children from the program visited” Dover Int’l Speedway (THEUNDEFEATED.com, 10/9)....TNT's CHARLES BARKLEY is “donating a total of $100,000 to hurricane relief efforts in Texas, Florida , Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.” Barkley is also “contributing $25,000 to the Las Vegas Victims Fund” (AL.com, 10/9).

SCREEN GAME: The film "BATTLE OF THE SEXES" is "quickly collapsing." Despite "increasing its theatre count by 50%, it fell 30% for the weekend to $2.4M, with a dour $1,300 per-theatre average." Although reviews "were favorable, it seems unlikely to win critics' awards" (SHOWBUZZDAILY.com, 10/8)....The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's BENJAMIN HOCHMAN “makes his movie debut” in “MUST FOOL EVERYONE,” which premieres on Oct. 16. Hochman is married to director ANGELA LAROCCA HOCHMAN, who co-wrote the screenplay (STLTODAY.com, 10/9).
