Overnight Ratings: Michigan State-Michigan Continues Strong Trend For ABC Primetime

The first primetime Michigan State-Michigan matchup led all of college football in Week 6, drawing a 3.9 overnight rating on ABC's "Saturday Night Football." That figure is up from a 3.2 for Florida State-Miami last year. Through six weeks, five of ABC's Saturday primetime games have seen year-over-year gains. ESPN and CBS tied for the second-best CFB figure of Week 6. ESPN drew a 2.7 overnight for Alabama-Texas A&M on Saturday night, while CBS drew the same number for LSU-Florida in the 3:30pm ET window.

DAY & NIGHT: NASCAR this year deliberately moved the Monster Energy Cup Series Bank of America 500 to a Sunday afternoon slot for the first time since '02. NBC yesterday drew a 1.8 overnight for the race, up from a 1.2 last year, when rain forced the race to a Sunday afternoon slot. Last year's race also was simulcast on NBCSN.

The chart below lists overnight ratings from weekend sports telecasts on broadcast TV.
